City Hall Jobs Fair

Jenny Wilkes News

Recruiters from 60 organisations will be at the jobs fair held at City Hall on Wednesday 16 October.

There will be a variety of jobs on offer, including full and part-time vacancies, as well as temporary roles in the lead up to Christmas.

Many employers will also be offering apprenticeships which are open to all ages, and attendees will have the opportunity to talk with organisations that provide training courses for specific types of jobs.

Councillor Anna Keen, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said: “The City Hall jobs fair is an opportunity to meet a large number of employers and training organisations all under one roof.

“As a Learning City we are always looking for ways to help people achieve their full potential. Learning new skills through training and apprenticeships is a great way to improve your career prospects.

“I would encourage people from all parts of the city to come along. If you’ve been out of work for a while or looking for a career change, come and speak directly to employers who can answer questions and provide advice.”

Confirmed organisations include Bristol Hospitals, Bristol City Council, Computershare, First Bus, Primark, Poundland, Mama Bears, Reed International, Tesco, Bristol Waste and Proud to Care Bristol.

Bristol City Council is currently recruiting for SEND senior assessment coordinators and SEND Senior Inclusion Officers and other posts, if you are interested come along and get some info on next steps.

Support will be available for anyone who needs help preparing for job opportunities including careers advice, CVs and interview practice. Advisors from Carers Support Centre can provide further assistance to carers looking to get back into work.

The City Hall jobs fair is one of many jobs fairs held across Bristol each year by Bristol City Council, the Department for Work and Pensions and the National Careers Service. Find out about other jobs fairs by visiting the Ways2Work website.

The event takes place at City Hall, College Green, Bristol, BS1 5TR on Wednesday 16 October, 11am to 3pm.
