Our Vision
The South Bristol Youth Guarantee aims to tackle educational and economic inequality by working with employers and partners to support young people, aged 17-21 years of age in South Bristol, into jobs, apprenticeships, volunteering, training, and further or higher education.
South Bristol Youth Guarantee is led and supported by Bristol City Council. The strategic direction and work planning are overseen and supported by a steering group of key partners, including business, education, training, employment support, voluntary sector.
The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority, led by Mayor Helen Godwin, has secured nearly £5 million of national government funding to deliver the Youth Guarantee Trailblazer programme. As one of only eight such regions in England, the West of England is pioneering new ways to support young people aged 18–21 who are not in education, employment or training. Delivered in partnership with Bristol City Council, this initiative is funded by the UK government and forms part of the national Get Britain Working strategy.
