New Bristol Employment, Skills and Lifelong Learning Plan Approved
Employment, Skills and Lifelong Learning Plan Approved
At March Cabinet, Mayor Rees approved the ESL Plan which sets out a clear road map for the Employment, Skills and Lifelong Learning service until 2030.
The plan has drawn on extensive research and feedback from residents, employers, elected members, ESL team members, partner providers, wider council teams, funders and strategic partners. It is aligned with and designed to inform wider strategies and policies at a national, regional and local level.
The ESL core purpose is to unlock potential and change lives. We do this by giving people a chance to find decent paid employment, improve their skills and qualifications, increase their household income, improve their wellbeing, and enjoy more opportunities to develop and progress. Every member of the ESL team is excited to work with residents, communities, employers, and supportive partners to smash through the barriers and achieve shared prosperity for all.
The data and evidence outlined in this plan has already helped us to secure significant new funding from the West of England Combined Authority. Get in touch if you and your team have ideas of how we might join up to improve education, skills and employment outcomes by emailing: esl@bristol.gov.uk
