Support Programme at Babbasa
Babbasa is proud to announce that our Support Programme is now back! It is aimed at Bristol based young people aged 16-18 who are from a low income or ethnic minority background, who are NEET (not in education, employment or training) or pre-NEET and who face barriers in reaching their aspirations relating to education, employment, training or enterprise. These barriers and challenges can come in many forms, from lacking confidence, to being unsure of the path needed to achieve their future goals, or from not having a supportive network around them, to experiencing mental health challenges, which impact their ability to make positive progress.
Support is provided through two avenues:
- Tailored 1:1 support, which runs for 3-4 months and includes 6-8 one to one sessions with the Support Programme Lead. These sessions can focus on topics that can support a young person to meet their aspirations, such as building confidence, overcoming setbacks, dealing with anxiety, managing emotions and much more.
- Targeted group sessions, which will provide the young people with the opportunity to engage in activities relating to topics such as wellbeing support, life skills coaching, and some fun activities too, such as cooking, arts and crafts and mindfulness practices.
The Support Programme can provide young people the opportunity to receive bespoke input to get them moving in the right direction and can support them to engage in activities that can provide them with not only a peer support network, but also the support they require to overcome the adversity and challenges they are facing.
If you know a young person who may benefit from this support, please contact Charlotte Smith (Support Programme Lead) at Charlotte.smith@byep.org.uk or on 07483 910181
