Bristol WORKS and boomsatsuma host ‘Ask Me Anything’
boomsatsuma and Bristol WORKS played host to another ‘Ask Me Anything’ event as part of BBC Digital Cities 2020 at Engine Shed.
BBC Digital Cities returned to Bristol with a week-long series of events for the creative industries. The week-long event kicked off on Saturday 25 January, with a jam-packed schedule of insights and free digital skills training.
The Bristol WORKS and boomsatsuma event saw 14 to 18 years olds from all over the city come together at the Bristol’s high-tech incubator to speed network with industry professionals. Connected by their interest in the creative sector, the young people moved around the room, speed networking with industry volunteers from Games, VR, Animation, VFX, Music, Festivals, Film and TV and other Digital and Screen roles.
Hoping to inspire young, emerging creatives, the event saw over 20 volunteers from industry dedicate their time to offering insights to young people, eager to know more about their jobs and pathways. The volunteers came from organisations such as Army of Few, This is Now Agency, Team Love, Calling the Shots, ADLIB, Fourth Floor Creative, Aardman, The BBC and Boomtown Festival, along with many others.
With over 50 young people attending, the event was a great success. A huge thanks to all involved.
