City Wide Call for Support
Latest WORKS Update
Across the last few weeks, and in light of school closures, WORKS has postponed all face-to-face contact and have been developing virtual resources and electronic support to share with young people, education providers and parents across Bristol. WORKS is committed to providing support and delivering on our ethos of offering experiences of work for those most in need. Furthermore, we aim to continue to inspire young people to understand the variety of pathways and opportunities available after their GCSEs.
So far, our WORKS employers have been developing content which is being shared on the WORKS website and in the next few weeks we will be sharing Q and As, Masterclasses and ‘This is how I got here’ insight films. A big thank you to WORKS employers who have done a fantastic job in collaborating with the WORKS team to bring this together!
Do take some time to look at some of the recent content on the website. Our Remote Resources page, updated fortnightly, collates useful materials from three sectors every two weeks – with the most recent update going live today! Our Remote Film Content page is designed to collate existing and bespoke film resources such as ‘Explainer Films’, Q and As and Masterclasses. These will also be updated fortnightly to ensure that students, parents and education providers continue to access fresh content for working at home.
To ensure we have a wide range of representation from individuals, sectors and organisations, we are getting in touch to see if YOU can help.

Support
The WORKS team will support you in developing the content and will promote and share resources with schools across the city via our WORKS website, Twitter and through a newsletter. You can watch our top tips for remote filmmaking here and visit our news section to see some of the existing ways WORKS supports Bristol schools.
This will be a defining time for our young people in Bristol and it is important that we try to ensure that it is one that is remembered for its resilience, hope and positivity where possible. We also want to ensure we are capturing and representing the wide range of careers, sectors and organisations across the city – therefore, if you would be interested in getting involved, or if you have suggestions, please contact WORKS@bristol.gov.uk . We’re happy to answer all questions and explore all ideas.
Many thanks and take care,
The Bristol WORKS team.
