boomsatsuma futures week linking students with industry
#boomFuturesWeek, went ‘virtual’ during lockdown, bringing industry leaders to students’ computer screens, for interactive ‘Q & A’ panels to support their personal progression.
The programme started early last week by detailing the opportunities for boomsatsuma students to progress their higher education within boomsatsuma’s programme of courses for 2020/2021. This included the degree level courses available for this September 2020 admission, as well as previewing six new degrees being launched for September 2021.
Across the four days, students selected webinar panels matching their interests and heard from successful professionals in their fields. They were able to engage in questioning the panellists, who were ready and willing to help them with their career development and give insights as to how to gain entry into their sectors.
boomsatsuma’s strong ties with the creative industry helped them draw industry professionals who have worked/are working with the BBC Creative, ITV, Channel 4, Disney, Sky Sports and The Evening Standard. There were also a whole host of other professional journalists, photographers, animators and independent production companies making up the impressive roster.
boomsatsuma director Mark Curtis states:
“Futures Week is part of our ongoing commitment in supporting students to make the right choice for their futures. Lockdown has forced us to adapt and make this an online webinar format, which will certainly still give our students access to brilliant speakers.
“The information and personal feedback will give them valuable guidance towards making informed decisions about whether they choose to stay on in higher education, or beginning their career journeys.”
