Simon at the school room café wants to grow his business
“I’m the manager at The School Room Café. We are a charity in Southville with 90 full time employees. I met Mairead and Sam from South Bristol Talent Pathway Project at a Community Development event.
I want to support the café to grow and to work closely with local schools and the community.
Since signing up to SBTaPP, I have made links with Workforce for the Future partners, Bristol Works, Bristol Community Transport, Bristol West and Bristol Community Links South.
We want to do more than sell cakes and coffee. We aim to attract young people into hospitality, train them up and give them leadership opportunities. We have now designed a programme with Bristol Works, to involve schools.
We are at the start of our journey but can now see where we are heading. We want to be at the heart of our community and the support and networks can help us achieve this.”
