Shelby is a young mum with support she will complete her studies

Shelby was referred by her mum to the Young Parents Service when she became pregnant while studying for her A levels.

Shelby was determined to continue her studies but wanted help to decide what the best course of action was for her. Shelby met Jules, the Young Parent Advisor, to help navigate the options.

Jules referred Shelby to the Family Nurse Partnership, who help young mums throughout their pregnancy.

Acting as her advocate, Jules ensured that Shelby was able to access support from her college before and after her daughters birth.

Her timetable included allowance for childcare and a blended learning approach allowed Shelby to spend time with her baby.

Shelby was also supported to access funding for childcare costs.

Shelby and Jules continue to meet to discuss her learning and career goals
