Explore (16-25)
Explore is a personal development programme which offers young people a range of exciting group activities and one-to-one support to help them build confidence, get motivated, meet new people, and identify and work towards personal goals.
The programme commences with a 4-day access week of outdoor based activities to help build and stretch the participant’s comfort zones. This also gives them the opportunity gain experience in and develop transferable teamworking skills.
The remaining 4 weeks of the programme will consist of follow-on days where the participants will take part in a variety of activity sessions that focus on developing independent living skills, recreation or community activities, employability support, as well as continuing to gain experience working in a team environment.
Examples of activities can include cooking classes, conservation/nature days, well-being sessions, digital upskilling, art/creative workshops and many more culminating in a celebration/next steps event to recognise the development the participants will have made and explore further opportunities post course.
Each participant will be supported to complete an accredited Personal Development & Employability Qualification throughout the course.
Taster session: Wednesday 31st January 2024, 11am-1pm
Access week: 6th February – 9th February 2024 10am – 4pm
Follow-on sessions: 13th – 29th February 2024. 10am – 4pm

Get Started in Music (16 – 25)
Everyone starts somewhere. Our Get Started in Music course will give you the opportunity to write, record and ultimately perform a few pieces of music. You will gain invaluable skills and knowledge from experienced professionals, experiencing a taste as to what it’s like to work in songwriting and music production. The course will be live instrument based, with Irene Taylor Trust providing instruments such as: drum kits, guitars, keyboards, bass etc. Through learning about the music industry and meeting other musicians, you will also earn a Bronze Arts Award Qualification.
Following the program, you will have access to follow up online sessions and up to 6 months mentoring support.

Get into Customer Services with GWR (18-30)
This programme with Great Western Railway will give you experience working at stations and onboard with trains with GWR. The course will give you the chance to develop your customer service and employability skills and interview techniques, then you will be given the chance to meet employers with live vacancies at the end of the programme. You will also have the opportunity to gain a Level 2 Food and Hygiene qualification and an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.

Course Dates: 12th – 26th February
Location: Based at Bristol Temple Meads, with travel to days in Swindon and London Paddington included free of cost.

Get Into Retail (Marks & Starts) with Marks & Spencer (16-30)
With a mix of practical training in store and employability workshops across this four-week programme, you will work towards securing a temporary contract with Marks & Spencer – all whilst meeting new people and learning new skills! Not only will it boost your confidence and employability prospects, but you will also have the chance to benefit from the support of one our mentors to help you uncover your next steps.
Information Sessions: 13th Feb 11am in Swindon, TBC in Bristol
Taster Day: 21st Feb in Bristol, 22nd Feb in Swindon
