We at Spear are preparing for our last cohort before our Summer break – the first day of the new programme is Tuesday 25th June (just next week!). We know that summer vacancies opening up make this an ideal time for NEET young people to get into work, or for those wanting to re-enter college in September to re-establish their routine and motivation.
We work with young people with barriers to employment – those who have mental health problems, fewer than 5 GCSEs, are care leavers, neurodivergent or have learning disabilities, have a criminal record – because we believe these barriers shouldn’t have the final say on where a young person wants to go in life.
We use coaching to empower and upskill young people to be ready for the workplace and education no matter what has held them back in the past: 83% of those we work with get into work or education and are still there a year later. We offer a six-week foundation course followed by a year of follow up support because we believe in long-term change.

- NEET
- Available 4 afternoons a week for the next 6 weeks
