Nicola gained confidence to improve her job outlook

As a freelance graphic designer Nicola was stuck in a contract with little financial reward. She had lost her confidence and felt there were gaps in her skills.

She met Michaela, the Future Bright Career Coach, and together they drew up an action plan to help with progression.

“I have taken courses to fill in the gaps in my graphic design skillset to improve my business skills. I was pointed in the direction of the Bristol Library Business Centre and did useful workshop called ‘Thinking About Business’.

Finally, I managed to negotiate a contract for a graphic design/product design project that paid a much better rate.

I am growing my freelance business, but also keeping an eye out for employment opportunities. I am continuing to take advantage of available resources to improve my graphic design and business skills.”
