Students Inspired at City Academy
As part of the Bristol WORKS programme at City Academy, and in our other partner schools, students have been visited by inspirational speakers from around the city.
Our first guest to speak at City Academy was Karl Brown, Senior Associate at Clarke Willmott LLP. Karl has always been interested in education and making a positive difference to the lives of others so was an ideal candidate to present to students about his career and pathway into it.
After presenting to his student audience, Karl said “I really enjoyed giving my presentation. It was clear to see that the school has passionate and hard working teachers as well as great students.”
Ben Tucker, Vice Principal of City Academy, was equally enthused thanking Karl for his brilliant assembly and stating “I have had students asking me questions about it all day and saying that they enjoyed it!”
Following on from, Karl, Councillor Asher Craig, Deputy Mayor, visited the school last week and was thanked with a rapturous applause from the students. With responsibility for communities, and a background that includes extensive work in education, Cllr Craig is very keen to engage with young people in Bristol and is working to improve opportunities for people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
