Pushing the Boundaries with Preet Chandi!
On Tuesday we were delighted to welcome Preet Chandi to two of our WORKS schools to give an inspirational talk and workshop for female students.
Preet has just completed an unsupported expedition across Antarctica. This involves her travelling 700 miles, pulling a pulk (sledge) with all of her kit, battling temperatures of up to -50c and wind speeds of up to 60mph. You can read more about her incredible journey here!
Preet and WORKS travelled to City Academy Bristol and St Bernadettes Catholic Secondary School where she gave an inspirational talk followed by a workshop for female students. It was incredible to hear about her perseverance, strength and passion. Her message resonated loud and clear “It doesn’t matter what you look like or where you are from, you can achieve what you want to achieve”.
There was a chance for students to also put their questions to Preet. Her advice for young people in regard to building resilience is “”Set a goal with small steps to achieve it, take each day at a time …and take the first step now!”
