Careers in gardening with Ashton Court
Last week students from New Fosseway School travelled to Ashton Court to spend the morning having a go at different practical outdoors tasks to get a taster of what it is like working on the estate.
Students were welcomed by one of the gardeners who took them on a tour of Ashton Court. They were able to see all the projects and pieces of work required to keep Ashton Court running including the pond on site. Students loved being given the opportunity to use gardening tools to dig up an area of the grounds that needed tidying and planting some seeds.
We were also able to learn about all the different job roles working in the outdoors and that are available across Bristol City Council via the parks team.
Everyone involved had a fantastic time, and we can wait to go back and see how our seeds are growing!
A massive thank you to the volunteers and staff at Ashton court for having us and for all you help!
