Beauty and the Beast at the Bristol Hippodrome
During the last few weeks Bristol WORKS were donated 100 tickets from Disney to watch Beauty and the Beast at Bristol Hippodrome.
We were able to distribute all 100 tickets to the young people and families that we work with. This included students from Blaise High School, Merchants Academy, City Academy, Snowdon Village, and Bridge Learning Campus. Not only were we lucky enough to receive the tickets for our young people and families, but First Bus also provided free bus passes to support people to be able to attend. This took a huge amount of pressure off our families and enabled them to access this opportunity more readily. Not only is this a massive help for our families, but it helps to keep our city green and keep emissions low from cars traveling and parking in the centre.
Our team members were on hand to give out tickets on the day and we can honestly say that the show was absolutely amazing and was enjoyed by all. We hope that it has inspired young people that a career within performing arts or production could be a possibility for them and we will be following this up through our delivery within Bristol WORKS Schools.
Furthermore, we are so grateful to be able to share this opportunity with so many young people and parents who had not been able to experience the joys of the theatre before. It was magical to be able to experience this with them on the evening. One parent had called thanking us for the tickets and explained that their child “had taken up a part time job to buy her tickets to go and watch beauty and the beast, but unfortunately they didn’t quite have enough”. The parent cried when they heard they could go.
What a fantastic way to kick of a new academic year! Thank you again Disney and First Bus!
